The Case of the Law Suit for the Lost Suit

The attorney (AKA shark) for EZ One Price Cleaner told me he was going to take my home if I post this story, so let’s start by stating that this story is my opinion.
If you want the quick version; they lost my suit and wanted to give me $40.60 to go away, I sued them. I won!
Longer, but better version.

After they lost my suit they were very nice, but when it was time to settle up their tune changed. EZ One went back on the original arraignment and offered an insulting forty bucks; thus kicking off the saga of the Suit for the Lost Suit.

The big day finally arrived – after a failed court ordered mediation attempt a few weeks earlier the hearing was called to order. The shark shot an effective opening salvo with a motion to dismiss. Not to worry, I survived to fight another day by re-serving EZ One.

Take 2 – The second hearing. The shark tried again with the same trickery – this time the judge laid down the law and gave the shark a choice to either start the hearing or spend time on worthless paperwork. The shark finally made a good decision and we started the hearing.

The shark walks up to the lectern like he was on courtroom TV fighting over a $10M verdict. He calls witnesses and presents evidence. I walked up ignorant to the law, but armed with the truth. The shark tried desperately to pull out a win for EZ One, he even cried to the judge that I threatened to post this story on social media, the judge took a bite out of the shark by admonishing him with a condescending tone! Go judge!

I won the depreciated value of my suit, bang the gavel!

Moral of the story - Cleaners sometimes lose things. Good ones own up. Bad ones will be taken to the cleaners by both good consumers and vicious sharks. I am sure they hoped I would not go to these ends for so little money, I hope if they lose your items you will take them to the cleaners also.
